It’s No-time TiVo!

Help me, I'm a victim of child neglect!

Will somebody help me?

So, a couple of days ago, I surmised that TiVo wasn’t going to announce anything of significant interest at CES. Turns out I was right and wrong. Not only have not announced anything cool, they basically didn’t announce anything (unless you count this crap).

So basically, most folks were expecting (based on an accidentally released manual) a new DVR called the TiVo Premiere – which simply seemed to be a slimmed down, presumably cheaper version of the old TiVo HD and HD XL. They didn’t even announce that. So to sum:

  • No “TiVo Premiere”
  • No new DirecTV box (aka DirecTiVo)
  • No announcements regarding tru2way and their Comcast rollout
  • There weren’t even any demo booths as they had in previous years
  • They did announce some crap about a “BATTLE OF THE CONSUMER ELECTRONICS BRANDS AT CES” (like end customers even care about that)

That’s it. It’s as if the board of directors in the movie “The Hudsucker Proxy” have taken over TiVo, but are succeeding this time. (If you don’t understand you have to see the movie – it’s great)
